Michael E Tomlinson Contractors has been established for over 20 years. During this time we have gained vast experience in mechanical hedge cutting and vegetative maintenance. Contracts undertaken include agricultural and industrial sites, smallholdings, equestrian centres and local authority work. High output machines are used to cut hedges to the highest standards. We also undertake agricultural contracting work.

Hedgecutting & Vegetative Maintenance

Agricultural Contracting Work

There are two hedgecutting systems used:

  • FLAIL SYSTEM - for cutting up to 3year growth leaving a clean finish with debris pulped back into the bottom of the hedge. Stray thorns on hard standing are brushed or blown back into the base of the hedge.
  • SAW SYSTEM – for cutting overgrown hedges with large material up to 6” to 8” thick.

Debris clean up service is offered including chipping of material if required or alternatively debris is gathered up and burnt. Access is required with a tractor and fitted hedge cutter to undertake the work.

 

  • Grass foraging, mower conditioning, raking and buck raking COMPLETE OR PART OPERATION
  • Maize drilling – 6 row precision complete with placement fertiliser application.
  • Maize foraging – self propelled forager complete with corn crack and maize knives – COMPLETE OR PART OPERATION
  • Big Square baling – Height 0.70M (2’4”), width 0.80M (2’7”), length up to 2.50m (8’2”) Available for silage, haylage, hay or straw. Wrapping service also available.
  • Ploughing, shakaerating, 3metre combination drilling – Power harrow and shakaerator. Self hire also available.
  • Digger with driver for hire for ditch maintenance, excavation and maintenance of roadways, stables, mιnages etc.
